LECOM Health Challenge Announces Volunteer Opportunities
WNY-based Korn Ferry Tour event offers opportunities for community members
to experience tournament up close
CLYMER, N.Y. (Jan. 3, 2017) – The LECOM Health Challenge – a Korn Ferry Tour event to be held at Peek’n Peak Resort in Clymer, NY July 3-9, 2017 – announced today a broad range of volunteer opportunities that are open to the public for its upcoming tournament.
After a successful 2016 tournament that saw over 20,000 spectators and 400 volunteers, the LECOM Health Challenge is once again welcoming the community to be a part of the only PGA Tour event in Western New York.
“Volunteers were critical to the success of the 2016 LECOM Health Challenge,” said tournament spokesperson and CEO of the Chautauqua Region Economic Development Corporation (CREDC) Kevin Sanvidge. “Our volunteers work with various committees and assist with a wide array of tasks crucial to the tournament. We can’t thank our 2016 volunteers enough, and we look forward to partnering with the volunteers for the coming year’s tournament.”
Volunteers at the 2017 LECOM Health Challenge can assist with tasks like caddie services, scoring communications, player transportation, hospitality and Golf Channel operations and production. There are also opportunities for junior volunteers between the ages of 13 and 17 (on July 3, 2017) to sign up as standard bearers.
Aside from providing charitable community support, LECOM Health Challenge volunteers enjoy the drama and excitement a professional golf tournament from inside the ropes. Volunteers can watch top players on the Korn Ferry Tour up close as they fight for spots on the PGA Tour while playing on one of the region’s most beautiful courses.
